Char was born in Toledo, Ohio, where she lived for most of her life. She always enjoyed baking and making jellies.

She became a "Michigander" in the early "90's", when she moved to Michigan and married a wonderful man. Then she gave birth to a baby boy. After her recovery she got right back to her baking and jelly making. About five years later her son started kindergarten and Char loved helping out at his school, and as he grew older, and went to different schools, Char helped out at those schools also. She was asked to be a kindergarten bus aide (which she will always enjoy!) and then also a lunch lady at Hilton Elementary school, she was a cub scout leader for five years. All because Char loves being with children so much.

Char always gave her homemade items to friends and family as gifts until eventually her friends convinced her to sell her wares. When she started selling, [later that day] she immediately got orders, which pleased her enough to make many more flavors of all the jams, jellies, breads, and cookies.

When her boy was in fourth grade, he was diagnosed with diabetes, so Char started making no sugar added jams and jellies. She started playing around in the kitchen making new recipes and flavors. Then Char started selling at craft shows and farmers markets. And then she started the web site you're on now!
